Rapid development, wide space, good growth in auto exports

On August 7, the large-scale ro-ro cargo ship “Chensheng” berthed at Pier No. 8 of Qingdao Port Dagang Branch. After loading more than 1,900 various commercial vehicles, it will set off for Africa, which is the largest single-vessel loading in the history of the port. One of the most ro-ro international voyages.

With the acceleration of the “going overseas plan” of domestic auto companies, my country’s auto exports continue to improve. According to data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers on the 11th, in July, my country’s auto companies exported 290,000 vehicles, a record high, and the export volume increased by 16.5% month-on-month and 67.0% year-on-year.

Experts said that the high growth of my country’s auto exports is due to the increased competitiveness of new energy vehicles and other products in recent years, and the rapid development momentum; The industrial chain also supports domestic companies to play a greater role in securing global supply. In addition, my country actively supports auto trade, and policies and measures have been continuously improved. Looking ahead, my country’s auto export growth prospects remain broad.

In July, 54,000 new energy vehicles were exported, a month-on-month increase of 89.9% and a year-on-year increase of 37.6%, showing a rapid growth momentum.

Many industry insiders mentioned that the global demand for new energy vehicles is more robust, which provides a broad space for my country’s new energy vehicles to enter overseas markets. Wu Songquan, senior chief expert of China Automotive Technology Research Center, said that with the successive introduction of carbon emission regulations and the promotion of major national incentive policies, the sales of new energy vehicles in Europe are expected to continue to maintain rapid growth this year, which will prompt some Chinese car companies to speed up their presence in the European market. Layout.

Following NIO and other new energy vehicle brands, BYD recently announced its entry into the German and Swedish markets, and the first batch of vehicles will be delivered in the fourth quarter of this year. The Passenger Federation expects that with the continuous improvement of the overseas recognition of Chinese manufacturing and the improvement of the service network, more and more Chinese-made new energy product brands will go abroad, and the market prospect will be bright.

Automobile exports are expected to further accelerate

From January to July this year, my country’s auto companies exported 1.509 million vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 50.6%.

Shi Jianhua, deputy secretary general of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, believes that the high growth of my country’s auto exports is the inevitable result of years of accumulation and hard work in the domestic auto industry. Chinese automobiles not only produce and sell domestically, but also pay attention to globalization. The overall strength of the automobile industry has been continuously improved, and the product level, design and R&D capabilities and production have met the needs of various global markets.

According to Cui Dongshu’s analysis from the supply side, the world is still facing problems such as insufficient supply of chips and batteries, which has led to the reduction of automobile production capacity in Europe, the United States, Japan and other places, while Chinese car companies have done a better job in ensuring the supply of chips, filling the global automobile and new energy vehicles. The gap in supply is insufficient, so a huge increase has been obtained.

Thanks to policy support and overseas demand growth, my country’s new energy vehicle exports are expected to maintain a rapid growth momentum in the future. Sun Xiaohong, secretary general of the Automobile Branch of the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Mechanical and Electrical Products, said that in the future, the demand for overseas new energy vehicles, mainly in Europe, will grow rapidly, which will benefit the export of China’s own brand new energy vehicles.

Cui Dongshu said that new energy vehicles have become the main growth point of my country’s automobile exports. In the future, the global demand for new energy vehicles is still expected to increase, and my country has a relatively complete industrial chain in new energy vehicles and batteries, and the scale effect will bring cost advantages. In this context, my country’s auto exports are expected to maintain rapid growth.

The China Automobile Association predicts that the annual auto export is expected to exceed 2.4 million, which is in line with the expectations at the beginning of the year.

Policy support continues to increase

The automobile industry is a strategic and pillar industry of the national economy. In order to support the development of the automobile industry, help stabilize the economic fundamentals and ensure the improvement of people’s livelihood, recently, policies to promote the development of the automobile industry have been launched successively from the central to local governments.

For example, at the level of ministries and commissions, 17 departments including the Ministry of Commerce recently issued the “Notice on Several Measures to Energize Automobile Circulation and Expand Automobile Consumption”, proposing 12 measures in 6 aspects. At the local level, the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Commerce recently issued the “Notice of 17 Departments including the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Commerce on Further Invigorating Automobile Circulation and Expanding Automobile Consumption” (draft for comments).

The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers said that the auto market will continue to maintain stable growth in August under the continuous boost of the central government’s package of policies to stabilize the economy, relevant policies of ministries and commissions, and local policies to promote auto consumption. With the arrival of the traditional golden consumption season in the automobile market in September, the production and sales of passenger vehicles will show rapid growth, and the export of new energy vehicles and automobiles will maintain a good performance.

“To support foreign consumers to buy Chinese-brand cars, China’s auto credit and services need to be ‘going out’.” Bai Ming, deputy director of the International Market Research Institute of the Ministry of Commerce Research Institute, believes that China has the potential to become the world’s largest auto exporter in the future. , Chinese car companies need to pay attention to their own intellectual property rights and take the path of internationalization and standardization.
